I personally haven't played ST3 in years...but since it's game engine was the genesis of the whole SP blood-line I imagine it would run on Vista as well.
You may have do some tweaking of the system...give it a try.

How's that for a definite maybe? [:D]

As for playing past 1950 in SPWAW, well if you have the OoB's for the nations you seek to play then it would be possible. AFAIK there are some Korean War OoB's about but nothing all encompassing for the all the nations in the games line-up.

As for missing units...look to see if rarity is turned on in your game options. If so those units will not always be available to you.

If you want to play post-WWII battles, I suggest you get the SPMBT game from Shrapnel Games. It's a free version, based on the ST2 engine, that covers modern-day warfare.

I notice that too,I think it depends on what type of engagement it is and what year.

The Visibility of the battle has a lot to do with air availability. Weather has an effect as well. And, the game adjusts it for each nation as the timeframe calls for it, such as Germany having less air in the 1944-45 period due to Allied air superiority.

My, my, my. I saw that. The ANZAC Beaufort MkVIII (unit 145) has that Daisycutter, beginning in May 1942. Didn't know my Aussies had that secret weapon. [:D]
