Awesome game! Haven't been here in a while...

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Awesome game! Haven't been here in a while...

Post by barbarossa2 »

Haven't been here in a while, and even though there were some things about COTA and HTTR that made me a little frustrated, I need to say that I am probably a permanent customer of this franchise, because after playing and owning hundreds of games, I consider the HTTR series to be the best WWII operational/tactical simulation ever produced. I believe its teething stages are almost over and wish these guys the VERY BEST and much success!

Can't wait for Battles for the Bulge! Top notch game with top notch support. Anyone looking into this forum with any kind of interest in WWII should consider purchasing a copy of COTA just to get a feel for what is coming up!

Based on your glowing report and having played Conquest of the Aegean, I'll certainly purchase this game. As long as it's Vista compatible!

Well so far no beta tester has reported any problems under Vista. Paul and I will be getting new Vista machines here next month and then we should be able to iron out any that do raise their head.

H-Hour Orders?!?!!?

Post by barbarossa2 »

Arjuna,

I have been out of the forum for a while and I stopped back in last night trying to see how the release dates were and I had to stop in my tracks when I saw (or I think I saw!!)...

In Battles for the Bulge we will be able to actually give units a time to begin an attack? (H-Hour)????

So, I can advance all of my troops to the line over night, and tell them, wait here until 0500 and then I want everyone to attack!?!?!?

If it is true, that news has sold 2 copies of this game already and this is then the best WWII operational sim ever. By a mile.

Yes. Actually we have provided even more control. You can now order a force to attack, set the HHour to control when the Assault starts and also set the StartAt time. The default StartAt time is timeNow plus the orders delay. However, you can set it for some later than that and the force will simply hold in place till the Start At time, then start moving to the FUP. It will then reorg there until the HHour ( which you can also set ). Cool, hey! [8D]

That is definitely cool. This will certainly make the larger scenarios easier to handle.

[8D] WOW! Great Arjuna. ;D That was the one thing that kept me from truly enjoying the older games. Now, I think this game is all it can be! ;D (But I will still love any chrome you can throw in with upcoming titles!)

Oh I think there are a few things ( read "lots" ) that we can add that I wouldn't regard as chrome - like sequential tasking and triggers. But these will have to wait till after BFTB. [:)]
