Is this game closer...

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

From the screen shots it looks like a cross between Panzer General and Third Reich (i.e. the numbers below the 3dish icons). Is this game more of the former or latter? thanks for any feedback.

For a cross between Panzer General and Third Reich, I would say take a look at Commander: Europe at War (a few forums down). If I had to compare this with something, I'd probably say the old Clash of Steel, but at a smaller (division/corps) scale.

Clash of steel? I liked that game allthough it was yet another ww2 europe with a weak AI.

Thus another reason why I think this game *must* include (at the least) Pbem support at some point.
