Interface enhancement needed

Post by Jimmer »

Right now, there is no way to tell how much money has been given from myself to other powers this quarter, nor for the game. For GB, at least, this would really be valuable. I keep finding that I can't remember whether I gave my bribes out this quarter yet or not, nor how much. I have been going by memory, but at my age, that's not very reliable. So, now I'm creating a spreadsheet to track it.

It would be much better if the game could produce this info for me to view.

I can see that being useful. I'll put this on the list!
Too funny: You want to "document" your bribes!

Thank you

:)

Actually, it's mostly to remember whether I sent what I promised. But, yes, it would also be nice to know how much bribery (I ... mean ... um ... largess ... yeah, that's what it is ... from the goodness of my heart) had taken place.

Other enhancements - or streamlining - I would like:

1) Showing possible invasion areas in naval phase.
You can opt for displaying of where you can move your units - land or sea. But when ending a move in an sea-area with an invasion fleet, you wont know which area you can land your corps in, until land move phase. And even if I'm sure a lot of effort has gone into creating the map unambigiously, you can still have doubts in several areas. Same problem with sea supply, by the way. You place your fleet, but wont know if it is the right sea area until land phase. I know of more players who testrun their moves in dummy games before actually doing them. That seems way too cumbersome...

2) Putting sliders back to top-left in area-info, when clicking a new area.
When you have just look and all the units in a big stack and then click a new area with only one or two units, it just wont show in the area-info box. Even if you click the unit directly. That is until you spot the sliders are way out to the right side, and you move them back to top-left... Small thing yes, but none the less frustrating.

3) Displaying which button is active in area-info.
Make the active button yellow or blue or something else, to make it easier to navigate the box. Combined with issue 2) you fast runs into a lot of clicking to get the info you want.
 - And how about automatically change active button to show a unit clicked on directly on the map. That doesn't happen, when that unit is besieging at the moment.

4) Displaying what type of casualty you take during battle.
I know this has been mentioned before. It is too easy to make mistakes here. Which unit is taking the losses, and what type of losses must be more evident. Again consider changing color of active button. And maybe even a warning, when the losses chosen is more expensive than they need to be.

5) Include depots in unit report.
I can't always remember where all my seven depots are. And most often they are hidden under some units. Having them in the unit report, where I can zoom to them. Gives me a way of finding them. [:)]
