Problems Placing Artillery

Post by lparkh »

Hi,
I used to play SP1 and am trying to learn SPWAW. I open artillery dialog. I click an artillery rectange (with name of piece in it). Doesn't seem to depress. Then I go and try to target it on the map. Nothing. No target symbol
I noticed in an earlier scenario some hexes were dark and some not. Seemed to influence where I could target. But even then when I had a target icon didn't seem to "take". Could pick smoke vs shell etc.
I'm following the artillery tutorial now closely and no luck.
Has something changed since tutorial ?
I am played with very latest patches and enhance.
Please help!!![&o]

The hexes which are lit up are the ones you actually have a visual on.
If you pick a hex and your HE or smoke button is not lit, either your intended target hex is out of range of that weapon(like a small mortar), or your artillery has not loaded yet.

A problem with the interface itself has caused some players to have to press the HE or smoke button a couple of times, sometimes, to give the orders. This problem is apparently not being experienced on all CPU's.....

Thanks. Repeated clicking seems to be the key. "live delay" isn't relevant is it? No idea what that does....

The time of delay will be that number next to your HE or smoke button. "1.1" means 1.1 turns for your target to come under fire..
