What are the exact effects of declaring unrestricted submarine warfare?

On US entry?
On the chances of finding things with my subs?
On the chance of inflicting hits with my subs?

Does anyone know? The manual doesn’t seem very helpful.

"Going to "unrestricted" increases the chances of finding and killing merchant ships at a cost in the diplomatic sphere"

"25% increase in finding and sinking"

Quite interesting. I wasn't aware that you could put SUBS on patrol orders. I assume that isn't influenced by unrestricted SUB warfare?

If I remember correctly you are not being informed if America has been influenced by sinking of a merchant ship? Is that check being made irrespective of sea zone and controlling country?
Hit them where they aren't

Having just declared unrestricted submarine warfare I must say I’m a bit disappointed that no announcement box is forthcoming. Although the effects seems to be immediately obvious.
