It's 200 per port level per 12 hour period.  So an AK in a level 3 port will load/unload 1200 per day.

for each SHIP though! So if there would be 100 ships, the level 3 port will load / unload 120.000 tons a day! [X(] This is changed in AE though! [:)]

Yup, Castor's right.  Also note that a level 0 port unloads at the same rate as a level 1 port.

But you cannot dock at a Level 0 port. It is just a beach.

IRL you CAN unload over the beach. I have stood on the beach at Linguyan Gulf - beside a Philippine National Police colonel - watching ships unload over the beach - where their goods are sold along the highway direct to people driving by - wholly evading customs. It is not magic - you CAN land over the beach. And if you have 100 ships - ALL of them can unload too - so changing this probably will be a problem - in locations with beaches anyway.

More or less- crudely put - the system in WITP is right - in that a level 0 port is more or less the same as a level 1 port. It is at higher levels of port development unloading becomes more efficient - and again- WITP is more or less right. Since there is almost always a beach - and since where there is not we can use a land hexside - the system is right for assuming there is.

The problem is - the number of ships may rise as port development does. Or not. WITP uses a semi abstract system.
Naga-Pili-Daet are three different ports in the same hex - not one level 3 port - but we represent it as a port value of 3.
It is the same as airfields - and defining how a higher level port unloads should be carefully done - to insure you NEVER lose the ability to unload those 100 ships - which indeed you can do at Naga-Pili-Daet. What might be reasonable is to limit you to unloading ONE 100 ship TF at a single hex.
