Ver 1.2

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

Ver 1.2

Post by timrt »

I really want to warm to this game - it has the potential to go beyond CEAW & yet it somehow seems to come up short, but why?

The lack of naval dimension - how do you run a u-boat campaign that might just work?

If you save mid way through a game, you seemingly lose all of your air force when you reload the game?

Amphibious landings - Normandy did not rest on a port so why does this game?

Research levels do not seem to have a feel for them - clearly level is higher than level 1, but what does it mean, & nukes, this is Europe, not Japan, did the A-Bomb really influence military doctrine in Europe?

This game could be so much more, a mid way point between CEAW & World in Flames & yet it is neither.

If only!

WOW! Never had that happen yet? Saved lots of times.....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
