stalled task force

Post by MuguNiner »

Ahoy,

I have an Amphib task force heading to Buka from Munda Pt. It goes out 3 hexes and stops 3 hexes shy of the destination. Can anyone inform me as to why?

Thanks

Is it set to retirement allowed?
What is the task force's speed?
It may be a bit slow and trying to get in and out under the cover of darkenss prevents it from carrying out it's mission.
If you set it to patrol-do not retire it will proceed as planned but may be subjected to the air power stationed at the enemy base.
TF's that have a speed under 25 knots have trouble carrying out their mission with retirement allowed.
They eventually will arrive but may have trouble as what appears to be happening here.
Good Luck to you.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

I have had this problem several times with sending troops to some of my bases. The most effective counter I have found has been to issue them orders to sail to a spot one hex short of the destination with "patrol, do not retire" orders and then issue the orders to enter the final destination hex the next day.

i figged it out... I set the task force to "patol", not "retire" and that did it... Buka is now mine... tomorrow the world...  Thank you for your comments...[:)]
