Backyard

Post by DAWUSS »

Has anyone thought about having someone's backyard be a playing field? OK, so there may not be much of an audience (either you're getting a sideline view or you're getting a view from the window), but it would be a fun venue to play in, especially for nonprofessional leagues out there.

I could try to make a back yard field. Not sure how it would turn out, but I will try. What size do you want it? If you could give me a better description I can give you closer to what you want.

I have been thinking of makeing a practice field for a while so I guess this could be it. Although the field I was going to make was going to have a big stadium in the background or something like that.

I hadn't quite thought about field size or anything like that, it was just an idea that had popped into my head after playing some backyard football the other day.

Heck, I think the only form of football not covered in this IS backyard football! [:D]

(But then again, that would be a little tricky, as no one wears helmets, pads, or uniforms in backyard football...)

Yeah I had the "can't remove the helmet" problem with my NFL Tour mod. If you want a "Back Yard Football" type of field I could try it, but I don't even know the rules of Back Yard Football so I don't know what size to make the field.

Rules of backyard football? Those tend to vary from group to group

I am about to start working on the field, but if you could help with some pics of what you want that would be great.

Ok I have no idea what you want lol. I don't really know what Back Yard Football is other than a kids football PC game so if you could help me out as to what you want that would be great. I am using one of Gary's backgrounds that is perfect, but don't know what else to add.

EDIT: Here is what I have so far and as you can see it's not much. Only trees and a residental background. If you want something simple it might be good, but if you want more complex just tell me what you want

Backyard football is essentially a bunch of guys/girls/both getting together in the backyard and playing football

DAWUSS, I want to help, but I need some more information. I have the basic "Backyard Field" What should I do with it next? I can't make what you want when you won't tell me what you want other than a Back Yard Football field. I don't play Back Yard Football so I need details as to what you want. If you just want what I have already made then I will zip it up and send it your way, but if you want more you need to tell me.

Rhino,

That field, if you can make it 100 yds, would be perfect for a league I've got going. It's just supposed to be a Sunday morning amateur Adult League (a Beer League, if you will), and I've been looking for a bare-bones field with a few trees and maybe a couple or three park bleachers just to flesh out the park a little.
It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum... and I'm all outta gum.

That'll do, but generally back yard football doesn't have hash marks or yard markers :)

You never played football in the back yard? You just get a couple of people together and you play football in a wide open space, such as the back yard of your house. The alternative is on the street, but you'd have to worry about cars and if you're playing tackle, the concrete hurts more than the grass and dirt.

Unorganized, unofficiated, but fun nonetheless.

Ok I am going to send you the field I made. If you want it different then you can tell me after you get a chance to play. That should make to easier on both of us and yes I played football in the back yard when I was a kid, but I didn't know how close the game is to real life.
