Dragoons delay at Agedabia 12/6/41

We have been moved to Agedabia to set up defenses and delay the Italian advance north along the coast. We will have dug in by the start of battle and are prepared to defend to the death. We will have two rows of mines so as to protect our front lines.

C CO will hold the north flank with A CO in the center. B CO will hold the southern flank today. Visability is about 650 yards and it is crisp and clear out today. We dont expect the Italians to begin there move until the day cools down some what. They dont like it when the heat and sweat ruins there uniforms looks.

So some time around 1800 hours is when we expect this battle to begin. The enemy will be advancing across mostly open grond. Should be more of a turky shoot today. All our men are eager and anticpating this battle very much. We are ready to put some serious damage on there asses today.

Already 40 minutes into the battle and still have not seen much in the way of Italian infantry. At first the only thing showing up was those transport trucks. Which we kept blowing into small pieces of junk. At least 25 of them were blown apart before they quit sending them at us.

Then they started sending in there tanks. For the past 20 minutes all that have been showing up are those M 11/39 and M 14/41 type tanks. Which our gunners have been having a field day with. They have taken out at least 25 of the 11/39 and I know at least 15 of the 14/41.

Every so often a squad of infantry will appear of which they are soon dispatched of. Our gunners have been none but true marksman when it comes to there shooting today. I just can not see the enemy keeping this up much longer. They can not keep losing the man power and equipment they have so far. I will give them credit so far for really trying.

Our big guns have kept up a steady volume of fire on the rear of there lines and im sure this is why there has been a lack of ground troops showing up all day. I can honestly say this has been a very easy battle for our side.

Little over an hour and the Italians are beating a hasty retreat from the battle field. I really dont blame them we beat the crap out of them today.

There losses have been tremendous today. We killed 1651 of there infantry along with 4 of there artty. Also there losses in mech equipment had to hurt. We counted 23 burnt out hulks of trucks strewn about the field along with 120 of those tin boxes they like to call tanks. They should really be ashamed of there selves for bringing them to a war.

But I must say there officers really looked very grand as they showed us ther back sides making a hasty departure.

We did have some losses but only slight. Lost 24 men and 5 of our tanks mostly recon cars. There gunners were hitting every where but at us. They were missing some time by as much as 100 yards. Some misses were so bad I thought they were going to blow up our crappers back at HQ.

Our orders atate that we are to move over to Msus and advance against the Germans next Month. At least we will have a month to rest and sit around and bull about how well this battle went today. Our thanks to the Italians for a rather easy and uneventful fight today. Dam I need a rest from this war so badddddd.
