When you test the game Please...

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

When you test the game Please...

Post by Larac »

When you go into the Beta Testing Phase, please include a few folks that know nothing of the board game.

Very needed with the Tutorial and Manual.

This will help to insure that things that are common knowledge for those folks "in the know", are not left out or not explained. As I have seen this happen in many rulesets, as they progressed things got left that now made no sense. An example leaves out a part that "everyone" knows, leaving new players in a lurch.

The scope of WiF will seem daunting enough, please do not add to it.

I hope the game does well, played when I was 19-20, and that was many blue moons ago.

Just a plea to say, make the support for the game as clear as possibile. Allow a few novices and a few war gamers who do not know WiF a look so you will know if it makes sense or not.

Good Luck,
Lee

Every time we recruit additional beta testers we make sure to include 'novices', aiming for a equal portion of: novice, somewhat experienced, and grognard.

*resident novice waves*

I'd gotten the game from a friend, but I've never so much as put pieces to map. The entirety of what I know of this game, I'm getting from MWiF. The tutorials walk you through the basic mechanics of what's going on, and are very well done.
