Another test run

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Another test run

Post by Hard Sarge »

all the posts about nothing is going on, makes it HARD to post about what is going on

so basicly, that is why I haven't been posting much or showing screen shots

but I wanted to do a test, so am taking screen shots to see how it goes

overall, in the BoBs, I think the game is going to be unbalanced for the English, I think it is going to be really HARD for the English to win the short battles

okay this is BoB41, goal is SD damage, and or plane losses

so plan for the LW is, just to go out and hit some targets, and on the side, draw up fighters and hope to get a grindmind set up

by hitting F2 once the turn is running, you can set the game to only show the targets that are plotted

this also shows what the English would be seeing due to radio chatter (the white boxes in France)

to the bad, you see that Waynno has not gotten the score to clear, so right now the LW has a unfair edge, besides the edge in numbers

this could be bad, same pic, but closer and showing what looks like bad timeing, bad luck

the 110 raid looks to be spotted and going to be under attack

the speed of the SKG is helping, but they are getting hit, 3 down so far, the Do17s have taken it on the chin

looks like some screw up on the timing, I don't see the rest of my early raids !

plus the weak raids are about to take off soon, the RAF is going to be able to land and refuel, I had hoped for them to be tied up longer

maybe Luft 3 will pull out the day

ahh, here comes the late raids, maybe my timing was off, I wanted those to the south up in the air before the ones to the north took off

SKG 210 is taken it on the chin also, 7 loses for 2 Canes, the top ZG Ace of the war is down and out

LW is taking losses, but the bombers are getting though, bomb damage is tilting the battle to the LW

Luft 3 is now in the air

too many more victories like this will lose the war for you

Stukas got caught, never a good thing, if you are with the LW

Thank you for sharing those nice screenshots. But I spotted some cosmetic errors:
While the Staffel designation 2./SKG 210 is correct the Gruppe designation II/ZG 26 is wrong and should be II./ZG 26 - this seem to apply to all Gruppe designations.
It's probabbly better to use StG for Sturzkampfgeschwader instead of St.G or you would have to use St.G., K.G. J.G. etc as these were all abbreviations. Historical usage was either StG or St.G.

It may be the screenshot but some of the numbers look like having a smaller font or placed lower than the letters, especially visible in the SKG 210/ZG 26 screenshot - 6 and 8 look OK, 0,1,2 look to be smaller and 3,4,5,7,9 are placed somewhat downwards but size looks OK.

I see that on the results page there are two instances where a raid lost more bombers than it started with (Raid 2 and 5). Is this a FOW or something else?

that was a end of battle report, so I am seeing it from the RAF side, and that shows FOW, if it had been from the LW side, the losses for the LW would be correct, but the RAF losses would be "guesses"

the same here for the RAF

that was more of a pain then I thought it would be, but got BoB41 corrected, will take some grunt work to get the rest corrected, but will get it
