First and Second Burma Brigades

Post by el cid again »

Two weak British units are correctly placed in all scenarios and mods - in the jungle on the Burma/Thai frontier.
However - due to game mechanics - the transit of two hexes of trail in jungle conditions takes too long (a month I think)
and IF the Japanese manage an invasion of Burma before Singapore falls (permitting sea transit) it is too hard for the
Allies to bring these units into play.

While strictly historical scenarios need to keep things where they were - the Japan enhanced scenarios can put these units
on the rail system in Central Burma - where they can rapidly move as required.

Good idea, El Cid. As an allied player in one of the enhanced Japanese scenarios, I have been very concerned about how wide open Burma is to aggressive Japanese moves earlier than historical. This gives the allies a better shot at keeping the LOC's between Rangoon and Mandalay open for a while anyway.

Giving these two brigades rapid movement capability is rather ahistorical, but I suppose it evens out with an enhanced Japan.
