Atomic bomb attacks

Post by Rikk30 »

I am in the later stages of a full campaign and finally received the atomic arsenal message. I recall using the a-bomb attack in version 1.0 years ago. If I recall correctly I seen damages of 100,000 casualties.

But in 3.0 the largest casualty figure I have seen was 10,000 and I am not positive if it was a atomic attack or just the B-29's making the ground shake. I am not sure that the attacks are getting there.

I launched the attacks from Saipan. There were around 160 P-47s and 200 B-29's in the raid. There was minimal resistance. But it looked much like any other arrack.

It would be real nice to have a special screen saying that the atomic bomb was used.

Also the damage of the bomb (in Pacwar) is a little lite. The manual says completely destroy a factory plus random casualties.

Is the factory eliminated from the game permanently or can it be rebuilt? Maybe all the factories in the city should be destroyed or redused to 0 then be rebuilt.

The AI seems a little tougher in 3.0 or maybe I am not as good a gamer as I was way back when. (:

According to the manual, only one B-29 carries the Bomb. All other aircraft in the squadron fly "decoy". (And only one squadron can be assigned the Atomic Bomb mission) As to whether the destroyed factories can be rebuilt, I don't know. but if the Allied player is doing his job, by that time the Japanese will not have the resources to re-expand their factories much in any event.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
