Version 1.04 decompression errors

Post by Eagle Strike »

Gentlemen:

For those that have already downloaded and installed the 1.04 version did you come across any error messages while “Decompressing”? Downloading the file was fine but I received 7 error messages and the decompression stopped each time. Unfortunately I did not write all the messages down but they all started by saying “Decompression Error #5” followed by a different file name. I did write down 2 of the file names that followed each “Decompression Error #5”, one said “Matrix Games\JTCS\Autorun.exe” and the other said “JTCS (under score) unitviewer\FMODEX.dll”

Following each error message there was another small screen that gave you 3 choices to choose from “Abort Retry Cancel”. I choose “Retry” each time but in most cases I had to press the “Retry” button more than once before the decompression continued.

Once the install was completed I tried the game and everything seems to be working fine. Just thought I would ask if anyone else came across this same occurrence?
Thx,

I downloaded the patch yesterday via my brothers PC. He doesn't have win-zip so I
un zipped using windows built in compression utility. I got 3 errors (can't
remember what they were). Decided to wait and use win-zip today on my own PC.
Everything worked fine, no errors at all. Very strange ?

Thanks for your response. I suppose those errors must be a rare occurrence because there does not seem to be many responses and/or other reports of similar nature...
