AE and Respawn

Post by Q-Ball »

I apologize, as I am sure this has been asked, I just can't find the answer in the Naval Thread....

Will there be RESPAWN in AE?

Will respawn stay?
If respawn goes, will the USN get the historical hulls? If so, what will be the names? (Wasp II? Canberra II?) Or, can the players name the ship when it hits the water? (that would be cool, though if that's a major code change, I understand)

Is MSW respawn still there as well?

Thanks in advance.

Yes this has been addressed a number of times ... but once more won't hurt too bad ..

RESPAWN as a general option is settable in the editor.

In the master scenario - we included all the carriers that were built historically for both sides ..

Now I feel bad.  I Respawned an old issue.  I respawned a dead horse that was beaten to a pulp.  My apology from post #1 has respawned.

I will speak of this no more.

Pretty much, yes.

Or, can the players name the ship when it hits the water?

For a very few (like Wasp II and Canberra II), yes - actually only while it is in the reinforcement queue.

I like the renaming for the respawns, though I am thinking more along the lines of "CV Constellation".

I'm sure with that we'll see some "CV Margaritaville" or similar

That makes sense. After all, it's bad luck to rename a ship once it has been christened...

Unless it is a war prize, then it was acceptable, even encouraged, to be renamed. Which brings up another question. Can ships be captured when ports are captured???

(yes, I know the answer, and yes, deliberately stirring up the pot, thus the devil smilie).

Responding with the answer that you know, and for the reason that you also know.
