New Stadium on the way

Post by garysorrell »

Despite my issues with gamespace, im trudging along and making a stadium for the NFL/NCAA fields.

It actually has corner fans, so WHOOOP!
Its a pain to make them, just ask Gil...not sure if Ryan has tried them yet...not fun.

Anyway, should be done tomorrow, im off work so life is good.

It will be a closed end stadium, im building a bleacher and a who knows what to close the open end

I think I will have to edit it to 50 yards for my new project. No I haven't tried the corner fans, but I bet it's hard and this is what I did for one of my fantasy stadiums lol. I don't think you want to go that far, but I also put columns in one like Gils stadium and it looked really good.

Yeah I have about 5 arenas like that lol. They have columns, rhinos, elephants, dragons, and stuff like that. A lot of fun to play in with a big 3D dragons right outside the endzone.

Thanks. I will probably stretch it out a bit once it's finished to fit the CFL field. I prefer not to make the one size fits all anymore. If it's sized to fit the CFL field, it just looks so cavernous when the US field is in it. I like the stadiums to hug the field, more cozy. So I will make 2 versions of this and any future stadiums.

Im finding ways to minimize the issues I have with gamespace, and finally making corner fans im happy with has recharged my battery. I kinda got like Gil, and just lost interest for a bit.

Dont let me stand in ya' way [:'(] you go right ahead, I'll just have to find a way to live with your decision.........hahahahahahahaha

Okay, "newbie" question....

I have spent most of my Maximum-Football time making editors for the actual DB files. An important aspect I think you'll all agree [;)]. But, seeing these stadiums, I have to ask a couple questions:

First, where can I go to find out how to make these. When I am done with the editor (well.. I'll never be officially done with it), I would like to mess around with editing/making stadiums. Those look really good!

Second, how hard is it/how long does it take to make a stadium?

Once again, those look REALLY cool.

JD, you need Gamespace or True Space. Game Space is easier, but True Space is free right now so I would go with that. Here is a link to True Space http://forums.caligari.com/track/link.asp?name=tS76ts7a&code=3 After you download and install open up True Space, go to TS6, scroll down and you will see "Load Object" option click that and from there just open a stadium up through Maximum Football, Stadiums. Most stadiums have multiple X files so you need to open all of them in a stadium file to open the whole stadium.

It will take some slight adjustments, since this isnt a multi part bleacher type, where I can just slide bleachers around. Once I start messing with it, things will change a bit with the base mesh. But it's not a big deal.

No worries man, I aint in rush for it or nothing

Question though,
I hear you guys referring to bleachers all the time
its not a term we use over here at all, what the heck is a bleacher ? [8|]

its about time I asked, I usually just ignore it when I read it in posts cos it means absolutely nothing to me

It probably isnt what they call it in the big stadiums either.
It is where the butts are, where the fans sit their 'bums'.

These are bleachers Mykal. They are just stacked benches.
