Few questions for AA FLAK (both naval and land) WitP-AE guys...

Post by Apollo11 »

Hi all,

Few questions for AA FLAK (naval and land) WitP-AE guys...

#1
With new maneuverability / altitude values I was wondering if those new data is used for FLAK avoidance as well - the "Elf" didn't know for sure - he is leader for "Air" in WitP-AE (i.e. less maneuverable aircraft = better target)?

#2
Is aircraft speed at the moment of AA FLAK engagement playing any role with AA FLAK (i.e. slower aircraft = better target)?

#3
Is aircraft size playing any role with AA FLAK (i.e. bigger aircraft = better target)?

#4
Can AA FLAK disrupt targeting (i.e. heavy AA FLAK can force attackers to be less accurate)?

#5
Is FLAK gap finally dealt with?

I am asking all these questions because I did many many WitP tests with bombers (results that I posted at WitP forum) and WitP AA FLAK was, well, not very well modeled...

(2004)
"Comprehensive Port bombing testing (98 B-29's vs. 50 ships in day and night) ..."
tm.asp?m=763293

(2005)
"Comprehensive Port bombing testing WitP v1.5 (98 bombers vs. warships and cargo ships) "
tm.asp?m=856314

(2005)
"IMPORTANT: Huge undefended "empty" zone in AA..."
tm.asp?m=960298

(2006)
"Humble request for Don and Joe regarding AA WitP programming..."
tm.asp?m=1131500

(2007)
The Flak Gap
tm.asp?m=1461551

Thanks in advance!

Actually I do know. MVR does not have any bearing on Flak avoidance.

How mcuh time do I have to put my thesis together for answering all these issues? [:(]

Flak Gap is being addressed. Testing will determine how effective we've been. Not my area though.

Thesis would be nice... [;)]

If someone (you "Elf"?) from WitP-AE team would be so kind to find some time to answer in few days it will be great... I am sure these questions would interest other people as well...

We are all very grateful for all your great efforts guys - keep up fantastic effort - we all keep all our fingers crossed for you! [:)][&o][&o][&o]

Yes, would be great to see that FLAK (as well as serious CAP resistance) has disrupting effect on bomber formation accuracy.
