Sound Bug Crashing

Just purchased the game. Would not run until I succesfully loaded the patch. Now it will run but it gives me an "unable to load direct sound" error upon loading.

The game will then crash if I try to do anything with the sound.

Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like the latest patch hasn't taken. Matrix Games installs it in the wrong directory and you won't be the wiser for it. Run the game and check the top right of the screen to see the version #. Should be 1.2. You may have to uninstall V1.2 and reinstall it, this time noting the correct folder name (something to do with a space).
