best battalion-level scenarios?

Post by oho_slith »

A newbie needs some advice. There are tons of scenarios around and I'm getting al little lost[:(].
What I'm interested in are battalion level (or company to regiment) level scenarios with max. 5 km hexes against AI.
Do you have any recommondations?

If you're interested in the Vietnam War you can try my Vietnam Combat Operations series, the scale is 4km/hex, Company to Battalion-size units and is designed to be played vs the AI only:

thanks boonie-rat also for publishing these scenarios.
They seem to be a bit scearingly complex for me, with no real frontline - more guerilla kind of war. Which one of these is the easiest for a newbie? Which one is the most "conventional" war scenario?
Are there other scenarios (of WW2 for example) which have a limited number of units and a nice frontline?

First, thanks to Boonierat for a GREAT game- absolutely incredible.

FYI to anyone intimidated by the vastness and vagueness- (think Vietnam!)Boonie did a great job by giving a weekly history of actual events and assigning specific missions during the game- VP for accomplishing the mission.

Oho, it may not be the best battalion level for a newcomer to the system, but it is a must have for anyone interested in history.

I liked Arnhem 44 (bridge too far) a lot. Company/batallion level. And it is not too difficult for a newbie considering it is the 2nd game I played/ are still playing.[;)]
