Lisbon Battle not starting - game halt

Hi Marshall

On 1.03.14.

Spain sieges and gets breach in Lisbon, that contains garrison and Portugal corps.
Portugal is russian controlled.

Russia runs Spain land after putting battlefile from Spain in battlefolder.

No yellow border on Libon area. Clicking same area does not open battlescreen, BUT battlefile gets deleted... ?

Enclosed Spain land, Lisbon battle and Russia game pre-spain land.

Something you could look at - maybe fix ??


Had similar incident in Kassel, but somehow got that started after several reruns. And and upgrade from 1.02 I think. Nothing seems to work here [&:]

Btw. Can't battlefiles when sieging city with garrison and one corps be avoided. Don't see the need really...Same case as field battle vs one corps plus depot garrison, isn't it ?

The battlefiles are auto created at the end of the land phase. In PBEM if they are gone then you may have a problem??? Do you have the game?

Updated to version 1.03.14 earlier in this month.
 
Host loaded the gamefiles in version 1.03.14, created backups. Then everybody updated games and used backups.
Safest procedure I could come up with.

Tried creating backup just pre Spain land. From the backups did spain land. Ended current turn to enter Spain land combat.
Reran until siege of Lisbon succeeded and battlescreen opened.
Continued until done and battlefile was created.
Backed up all spanish files.
Loaded russian backup.
Ran spanish land as Russia.
Now yellow broder on Lisbon area.
When clicked yellow disappeared, battlefile deleted. No battle opened.

All done in 1.03.14.

What else can I try ??

Ok, I think I understand here. It is Spain's combat phase and she must initiate the combat. You are Russia and clicking this area does nothing for you. Does this make sense?

You are correct:
The situation is Spain initiates the siegebattle of Lisbon, gets a breach, and starts battle sending first battlefile to Russia.
The problem is Russia can't enter same battle. Plz see above for description of my efforts to get it going.

If you could determine what is causing this, it would be great. Is the spanish/russian game-files corrupted in some way, or have we stumpled on some bug ... ?

Spain moved into the Lisbon area last month (april), but did get a 'no result'. This month there was a breach.
 
To start this, you need to enter the game as Spain, 'end current phase', click Lisbon in the following land combat phase of Spain and hope for a breach. (Repeat till you get it).
 
Then open the russian game, load Spain land move, and then try open Lisbon siege battle by clicking the Lisbon area.
 
There should be an exchange of battlefiles etc.
 
If you can do that in version 1.03.14 (which we are running) with no problems, my sanity will drop two points. I tried and failed just 'a few times'...
 
If you can in anything newer (1.04, 1.05?), I will get impatient right away.

I have run the battle and saved the Russian / Spain backup turns. (Spain won the siege). You should be set. The ZIP file is too large to post here so send me a reminder email and I'll turn her back to you.

I see in Mantis, you found a bug in this. Glad to find a stop has been set to this annoying bug.
Only hoping 1.05 isn't too far in the future.
 
Would something like 'next week' in programmers terminology be right ?  [;)]

In programmer terms, I would say 1.05 will be here in the "near future"
I have shut down 1.04 though which has MANY fixes in her but I have also had to circle back a few times and touch up a little.
