When should the Russians begin their attack in 41?

I am in a desperate way with panzer closing in on both flanks of Moscow and first snow have come, my first attack were not good almost a dissaster.

When the first snow, blizzard
A great man ones said "Veni Vidi Vici" and "Alea iacta est"
But a lot other said this "Ave Caesar, morituri te salutant"

If I have troops and tanks enough in my recruitment pool I usually go for attack in the first blizzard turn and keep it up for as long as I keep winning the battles. But starting the attack without replacements and with worn down units is not advisable.

There's no point going in the snow. The snow turns are really like the heavy frost that occurred historically - the Germans used it to continue their attacks to the gates of Moscow. The Germans aren't at a real disadvantage in the snow - they can keep attacking with alot of success. The Soviets start the winter offensive on 6th December when the blizzards come - then the Germans are at a real disadvantage.

If you are too weak to attack at this point frankly you are probably too weak to survive. That said, you probably won't be strong enough to attack everywhere, so pick a sector and concentrate on that.

Attacks before the first week in 42 are still disjointed and unconcerted...though can still be successful in blizzard turns if your units are powerful. Mine, in my first game as Ivan were not. It wasn't till 42 when even units with pitiful strengths were able to do damage in blizzard turns. But I still plotted all my attacks with 2 or 3 corps attacking. Before 42, you may plot 3 corps to attack one enemy corps...but they won't all attack at once...unless your luck is better than mine;)
Jesus ...., with all respect. This closet germanism is allways killing me.

In Blizzard you must attack every turn and with ALL units even the losses. You will see when the winter ends how many guards units you get;) Is the moment to raise experience fastly!!!!
