Well, I showed off MFB

Prior to tonight's high school football matchup, I happened to show some of the Lawrence North High School football players and four assistant coaches a little demo of Maximum-Football. In a matter of seconds I had this huddle formed around me to the point where I didn't need to get under the stadium tunnel for shade (against the brightness of the outside and the glare reflecting on the screen).

"Dude that's tight!"
"Dude, that's awesome!"
"Dude, that's hard!"
"Did you make this?"
"Man I hope we don't see that (3rd and 16) tonight!"

Player: "Hey coach come check this out, he made video game versions of us!"
Coach (responding to above comment, not having seen it): "I did this for NCAA..." (moments later he was asking me what game that was - I don't think his NCAA squad had the accurate jerseys and logos)

And some of them were even able to name players based on the numbers on their jerseys. "Man, Will just got decked." (Handoff to FB #30 for a 1 yard gain) Player: "Damon just got stuffed."

What really got them was the whole bit of accurate logos, followed by accurate jerseys. I know one crowd was standing there in amazement when I was having the Wildcats line up for the opening kickoff. (I showed it off on a couple of occasions, and by the time the pregame stuff was going on my battery was running on empty.

There was an inaccuracy involving the field (this was the first time I saw it and the MFB field was based from memory) as the (L3) was the wildcat logo in red and outlined in white, and the (L4 & 5 was green "Wildcats" outlined in white on a red background).

As for next Friday, I can look forward to the jerseys of the Carmel Greyhounds, all decked in blue and gold

And BTW, the MFB version of the game didn't quite go like it's RL counterpart, primarily due to the conditions used (MFB: Rain [was in the forecast] IRL: Overcast -- MFB: Low scoring punting duel IRL: Both offenses moved down the field...)

Wow thats really cool DAWUSS. Maybe you can even get some of them to buy MaxFB.

Yeah, a lot of them asked me what the game was, and I told 'em where they could get it, but I'll probably have to have printouts of the URLs or something next Friday.

And I didn't even show off some of the other aspects of MFB, such as the PDS (where they could add their actual playbooks [and their opponent's {scouting purposes}]), multiple rule sets (8, 11, or 12 man football [though that was rather irrelevant]). I think having IHSAA football was enough to get them awed and amazed. For college football, there's NCAA; for the NFL, there's Madden; but for anything else there really wasn't an option.

Plus, in high school, you do have players with NFL-sized egos [;)]

Same here I was looking for alternate to Madden and chanced upon MFB.
