Toning down the war effort

Post by James Ward »

Does anyone else think that the USA and USSR can increase their tech to much prior to entering the war?
As the USA you can easily be level 4 infantry and level 3 tank before you enter. There is no reason to spend on anything BUT research and they get a good bit of PP's. The USSR can be level 4 in both infantry and tank if the choose to just invest.
I think the war effort on both should be cut way back until at least mid- 1940. When the USSR can plop down 2 x 15 strength point tank corps the turn after invasion and the USA can land a horde of 8 strength point corps in 1942 something seems wrong!

I did not assume that the country would spent PP only on technologies... However, I agree that the research cost might be too low at the moment. We'll tweak that.

Originally the USA and USSR PP's were low before they entered the war. They seemed to have changed after the patches.

I think the amount of production for the US and the USSR is not excessive (after all, both were industrial powerhouses), but it does seem that the research costs may be too low. Perhaps they could start out with higher research costs initially, and have those costs decrease when they actually enter the war.
