Stalingrad campaign

Hi there!

I just "discovered" Steel Panthers and I'm thrilled by the possibilities of this great game. I used to play Talonsoft's Eastern and Westfront, but SPWAW is even better, to my opinion. After looking around for a bit at several related websites I recalled somebody mentioning a upcoming Stalingrad campaign. Does anybody know whether somebody is working on that, or whether it is already available perhaps? Ah, yes, and SP MBT is really great. I salute the guys who developed it and made it freely available. Thank you!

Welcome, there is a Stalingrad campaign already built in to SPWAW, the talk you are referring to was a discussion on if there would to be another MegaCampaign created what should it be. An overwhelming response was for this battle.

Yes there is a great interest in a Mega campaign for Stalingrad! It was decided to wait till Combat Leader comes out for this Mega Campaign Project to begin.

However, I have been slowwwlyy working on updating the SPwaw version of the Stalingrad campaign. I will say that I added a new first battle and redid the Large Tank battle on a better map with more surprises. Hope to have this completed in the near furture

Why waiting for Combat Leader? Will Combat leader be more advanced than Steel Panthers? If I look at the screenshots, it reminds me of Close Combat a lot. Perhaps I'm speaking out of terms, but I'm not really impressed with those screenshots. Please tell me what makes this new game worth waiting for.

It should be like SPWAW but with Mega Improvements

As for final graphic's - we'll have to ask the Big guys at HQ about this.

It's everything we wanted in SPWAW but couldn't have. To included micromanagement of units very similar to what we have in Uncommon Valor. Look at it as SPWAW with a supercharger, including all the things we always wanted in SPWAW and the removal of things we couldn't get rid of in the past. The code is new which leaves plenty of room for expandability such as modern warfare. The graphics are still in the early stages, the heart of this game is in the mechanics and gameplay.

Another question: I just bought Lost Victories and I'm also interested in Desert Fox 1941 and Fortress Europe. The screenshots for Fortress Europe imply that it is a entirely different game, compared to the normal SPWAW. For Desert Fox 1941 I could only find screenshots of maps. Are these Mega campaigns the same as the ordinary SPWAW scenarios and if so, can anybody send me some screenshots of the real battles, so I can get a better impression?
