I cant understand why Ike wants me to move north.  He has 22 combat brigades that continue to eat sushi and drink saki.  We need a new rule that subtracts experience points from unused(cowardly) highly experienced units.
(The Allies have no experience.)

Anyone can expand a base to get points.

Not really. You build up all your bases and I build up all mine and I´m thousands of points ahead of you.

The Allied home bases are not worth a lot to you. Check the basic base point multipliers.

If you are going to even score a draw, you must launch a war of conquest against me because I don´t give out cheap points.

And then you will be going into the teeth of the Japanese. I fight the battles on my conditions. That´s when I´ll get you.

Minefields of thousands of mines. (have not lost a single minelayer yet) Coastal defense guns. Thousands and thousands of men dug in and all supported by hundreds of bombers and carrier strike aircraft.
I cant understand why Ike wants me to move north. He has 22 combat brigades that continue to eat sushi and drink saki.

Yes, one Japanese division is worth about 3 Allied divisions on the defensive.

As Bigred continues to bomb 3 men and a dog on Gavigamana the Japanese have been, and continue to be, very busy.

Large CV force (6xCV, 3xCVL) showed itself west side of Gavagamana.  Could have a very nasty battle starting around Luganville.  Ike99 has been so cautious I expect him to back off.  He has not used a blunt force attack yet.
My queston to our spectators is can Ike take Luganville.    Is this a feint or a strong push.  Air recon shows no other Jap fleet units in the area.

can the japanese player go for AV in your game? if yes, ike can surely take luganville.

it all depends on if he can close your supporting AF around luganville or not.

in one of my games, my japanese opponent went for townsville and afetr a repeat for luganville. both times, he got smashed by the allied LBA. in a other game, my other opponent managed to close my supporting AF via massive naval bombardements and took this bases causing heavy AC loses for me and then, the game was over for the allied.

RE: target practice

About two months ago Ike invaded Nevia and Gavigamana.  probably w/ sub invasion.  I did not respond w/ a counter move, but did start bombing Gav..  The IJA unit did leave in the night.  The hex remains red control.

Is this a gift from my friend Ike?  I have a target 6 hexs from Louganville.  Is it gamesmanship to bomb the island into hell.  No rules.  A pure game.  Can the allies and the japs also bomb friendly unoccupied hexs for experience.
Can the allies run Fast trans to friendly hexs to increase the night fighting ability of the allied ships.  Practice does make perfect.
Remember, train the way you will fight.

Didn't the US use cut off Japanese held bases for target practice in real life?  No rule game = nothing is out of bounds.  Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Remember that those red dot empty bases are points and you can't use them to set up a quick recon base with an APD, AV and a PBY sqd.  Take some of them on the fringes of his defensive network to take a quick peek and then bug out.  It'll also help you guage his response stance.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

Can a dot hex with no bases and no troops even be bombed at all? I thought you had to at least have a viable target type of airfield, port or ground troops.

Would the increase in experience justify the op losses? Something tells me the answer is no.

10-24-42:
IJA has installed a 2xairfiled on every south coast hex of bouganville. Wewak is a 7 airfiled. Multiple AKs seen unloading at gasmata. Cruiser TF seen in southern slot. Barge traffic on the move towards Santa Cruz islands. Plenty of time to dig in and fort up. PM is still allied, but garrison is so weak any push by the japs would colapse the defense.

One possible reason that PM is left alone could be that in 2 previous games PM was taken at high cost by the IJA but the IJA units later either get trapped or PM falls back to allies anyway. It may not be worth the jap blood.
