Testers needed for NR Project

Post by Elouda »

Hello.

As I mention in this post, I need opponents to help me test a new scenario.

Its a CHS Variant and uses Andrew Browns map, so you need all the CHS base files - If you can run CHS157, your fine. I reccomend a second WitP install for this, or a copy of you current folder - this is because I include a collection of art for this, but some of you may have your own sets that you prefer.

House rules if desired, looking to play several games of increasing length to identify problems caused with new changes.

Drop a PM or a message in either thread and I will send you the files.

Thank you,
Elouda

Yep, still looking. I did get a lot of good input in the thread in Scenario Design, but no volunteers. So its been only AI testing for now.

I should add that I have no problem doing 2 day turns either, if people prefer that so it wont take as long. Probably a good idea if we want to get into '44 before AE comes out.

I do need a second install and can do that by Monday. I prefer 1 day turns (never played anything else) and don't mind which side but I am currently playing a PBEM as the Japanese using scenario 156+soviet Fleet. I do work, but its odd hours, 1200hrs-2130hrs Mon-Fri and Sunday afternoons. How many turns I can do varies considerably anything from 1 to 10+ depending upon work and the wife. Its normally 2-3.

I only have two house rule:
Indian, Chinese, and Kwantung LCUs must pay pps to move out of their area unless they are attack or start outside.
Dutch and Philipino LCU cannot use PPs until attacked or the island they are on is attacked.

I would love to play since I started this whole idea with the Circle Four Program thread and then Elouda went through all the discussion with the NR Thread in Scenario Design.  Will you have an AAR so I can keep up and read about the changes?

How complete is this? I would like to offer a long term opponent a game where the Japs get more toys later on, but would ideally like to avoid the need for restarts...

Its definately complete enough to play through, especially if you wait a few weeks so I can get some input from the first few games. The only really radical changes are ship durabilities and the build lists, the rest are just tweaks that may or may not need further adjustment.

Well, your long term opponent would love more toys, but earlier would be better than later lest you not see them after I get done handing you your arse in the first 6 months .... (I'm still hopeful) ......... Yes, would not like restarts...... Turn 0 is a PITA .......

Bring it on Big Boy! [:'(]

How far off surrendering are you in our other two games...? (It might be closer than you think if your garrison in Manchuria is less than 7500 points! - the Big B Soviet reinforcements have started to arrive...)

It's the English that know the term "surrender" ...... The IJN/IJA knows no such term ....... We fight to the last man, the last bullet, the last geasha .............. We never quite .......... Briing it on you round eye ......

You seem to be skirting round the question of the garrison. If you have been a bad boy Uncle Joe will come and get you...

(apologies to Elouda for the hijack, btw - but the prospect of your mod has brought my seldom seen opponent back onto the forum and I don't get many opportunities to bait him...)

Uncle Joe will understand ..... Not that it helped in China anyways ..... Nor any of the airborne boys .........

My apologies as well. Dind;t mean to embrass my English friend in public .... Though it does feel good ;>
You "seldom seen opponent" enjoys a baiting every now and then .... pity it was recently at my KB's expense .....

I don't know if you have had time to play the turn, but the USN had 4 fit decks left and about 75 planes available on each. Depending on how wounded your CVs were that could be very bad news for you (or me, but it was worth the risk...[I hope!])

Hey, I dont mind the hijack if it helps find people to try this out.

If you two are intrested in playing a game, drop me a PM with your email and ill send you the files. I just finished some changes (mainly fixes) from the version my current game is using, so its a good chance...unless you prefer to wait a while longer to make sure nothing untoward crops up.
