A New Update for John Tiller’s Campaign Series

Post by SeanD »

An important new update follows in the wake of the v1.03 mega update release this summer

Matrix Games and the Campaign Series Legion are pleased to announce the release of another update for John Tiller’s Campaign Series. This comprehensive update will bring the game to version 1.04 and includes the ability to make the new assault and visibility rules optional, some tweaks and improvements to OOBs for all games, a new series of scenarios for Rising Sun, and more.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Matrix Games is proud to continue improving and expanding the great gameplay found in Campaign Series for gamers looking to breathe new and innovative life into this timeless classic. We’re also equally as happy to still preserve the original experience for gamers who want to enjoy Campaign Series the way they did when it was first released. Moving forward, we will be using optional rules for major gameplay changes to allow both groups of gamers to have the game they want.”

The John Tiller's Campaign Series compilation exemplifies tactical war-gaming at its finest by bringing you the entire collection of TalonSoft's award-winning campaign series. Containing TalonSoft's West Front, East Front, and Rising Sun platoon-level combat series, as well as all of the official add-ons and expansion packs, the Matrix Edition allows players to dictate the events of World War II from the tumultuous beginning to its climatic conclusion.

Reinforce your countrymen at the Western Front. Swarm Japanese strongholds on your way to their homeland. Crush the enemy on the Eastern Front. Protect the U.S. coast from Japanese invasion. March into Germany standing victorious with your allies. This exclusive compilation proudly offers more than 350 scenarios, fought by more than 35 countries stretching from France to the American coast.

Get the update here. This update is comprehensive and will bring any previous version of the game up to 1.04.

I am going to lodge a formal complaint with the BBB and the FCC that regulates the internet purchases online for false advertisements in this game that was offered. The main position is the Vista Compatibility Issue. As a company you deemed my questions not relevent to the game nor your ad that states it Vista Compliant. There are issue with this game in the core engine level as well as a user supported software that is being offered as an official update to a product you have to purchase without rcompense to the developers.   I am not stating this because I am not a disgruntaled customer, I am stating this because you mis advertised the product to an unkowing consumer with no official customer support nor technical support dealing with this issue.   Thank you

What exactly are you talking about here? JTCS works with Vista.

Please provide some details.

I am a very happy JTCS Vista user, what on earth are you on about?   I would get my facts straight before I started making allegations.

Per one of his many threads, he alludes to having to "modify". As to whether that means he had to set compatibility mode or just run the game as administrator or just change resolution, I am not certain. His other posts are as vague as the above regarding the exact issue. The post is number 6 located here.

For the sake of posterity, barker resolved his problem.  The problem had something to do with the video card on his system.  I'm not sure about the details, other than the problem resided in his system and not in the game.

Pleas Mr. Moderator delete this thread. The issue has been resolved. There was a problem with dual SLI Nvidia cards with Vista SP1 there is no issue. I had a perl script made for me by a buddy that disabled certain features in my setup that will not conflict with the game and then when I exit it resets the machine back to normal so I can do some work on CAD.
