Move during Reaction Phase?

Post by jonesrl »

It appears to me that my infantry don't move during the reaction phase when I give them defend->move orders. Has anyone else noticed this?

Nothing with defend orders moves during reaction phase. They only move during the first phase.

In this general vein, questions...

Can someone who knows list and compare what the qualities of each move order are?

I'll begin (and probably whistle while the tumbleweeds of this thread blow past...)...

*DEFEND
speed- slow; 1st phase (of turn)
cover- most to full (setting dependant: 'hold all fire' probably being cloaki-est)
ROF- ?
accuracy- ?

*ADVANCE
speed- ? / slow; both phases
cover- ?? compared to bound and move-defend/engage
ROF- IME good
accuracy- IME good

*BOUND [enigma; I prefer manual bound tactics better, but am I shorting myself in the process?...]
speed ? [AI makes tactical decision regarding who moves and, for 1st phase, where]
cover- ?
ROF- ?
accuracy- ?

*ENGAGE
speed- medium
cover- medium [though a little dangerous]
ROF-
accuracy-

*RUSH
speed- fastest
cover- None
ROF- none (1st phase) [also, no smoke either phase ?]
accuracy- none (1st phase)

*WITHDRAW
speed- ? Medium (1st phase = unlimited distance; 2nd phase = 49m]
cover- medium
ROF- one shot
accuracy- ?

-----
Anyone know or want to discuss the above 'compare and contrast' more accurately?

Add to the list?

/////////

speed-
cover-
ROF-
accuracy-

----------
(The problem with this kind of dissection though is by the time you're done learning this stuff, it stops being a game and becomes a science study.)

Erik was working on a better breakdown of the commands. Don't remember if he posted it. Do a search maybe.

I don't believe so. I started a Base Order matrix but abandoned it. Still have it somewhere. Maybe I should update it with items above. I beleive it also had some errors.
