I'm the host, but not the host?

Post by Jimmer »

I'm the host in a tutorial-type game. I'm also playing Prussia.

When I try to change the options in the game, I get a message that says only the host can change options once the game has started. Except I AM the host.

So, how do I get around this? Is it a bug? I've only tried hosting once before, and obviously didn't run into this (or, I would have known what to do). But, I followed all of the steps right from the book (including the part where it warns you this might happen, and to avoid it, do such-and-such), but here I am: Hosting, but unable to change options.

Any ideas?

???

Is the option to allow changes during game enabled?
Is it the host's turn?

Thank you

Yes, it's enabled.

No, it's not my turn. Is that it? Do I have to be in my own turn in order to change an option?

This would make sense to me seeing how the game is a IGOUGO (really only 1 person has control/token at a time). Marshall, so are you saving these changes in the host's .pbm turn file?

That would make sense (although, I don't know what "IGOUGO" means, I'm guessing it's "I go; you go").

I'll try that tonight. Thanks.

LOL. Hey, that's not my shortcut... I thought it belonged to the community.

Well, I can't try until a couple of powers take their turns, so not tonight. I'll let you guys know as soon as it happens.

OK, THAT wasn't the problem. It's in my copy of the game: I just tried playing a saved game (vs. all AI opponents), and it gives me the same message when I try to change options.

I've attached the saved game.

I'm still running 1.03.14 until I hear something official on whether hosting/playing a game with one player out of synch is OK.
