Good Wargame with active multiplayer community

Post by Tegramon »

Hi,

I'm looking for a good wargame with good multiplayer community in the range of 30 euros. No more! I was looking at War in the Pacific but it's to expensive so I eyed Advanced Tactics. Any recomandations? The prime factor is the community, since playing against the AI usually sucks :P

Advanced Tactics is a great choice for what you're looking for.

SPWAW is free and has a great community here and at the Depot. Squad level tactical

You can send me the 30 euros.

Or JTCS is not free but three games in one, great community here and at the blitz. Platoon level tactical.
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."

Hehe, no way. H3:ANW is the best real time simulation I played ever. [;)] And I really enjoy multiplaying with it, but I was looking for one of those really deep hex turn based games like Panzer General [:)]

John Tiller's Campaign Series looks very good. I can't decide though whether to go with Advanced Tactics or JTCS. JTCS reminds me of Panzer General which is good ... Advanced Tactics however has also production elements and Random Map Generator ... I can't decide [:)]

Ok, settled on Advanced Tactics. Random map generator won in the end [;)]

Wh00ps! Missed this thread. Anyways I recommend you to check thread Free strategy games for some more decent & free stuff. MegaMek & MekWars have sizeable on-line community.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
