Panzerbefehlswagen based on PzKpfw III of 14 Panzer Division. I suspect this might be from the series of colour photographs taken by Signal's photographer in S. Russia, 1942.

LY is correct. 14th Panzer Divsion. Signal Magazine. Operation Blau. PzBfWg carried a dummy gun and acted as a command tank for a panzer company. Had an extra radio set. as a footnote 14th Pz was destroyed at Stalingrad reconsituted in France in early 1943 and ended the war in Kurland.

Two tanks in the back are also Pz III's. The tank with the 14th Pz rune also has the extra bolted on armour that i think raised the frontal armour to 50mm

I agree, cantona2 rights [:)]
SdKfz 141 PzKpfw III Ausf E (or version F), 14 Pz.Div. Probably photo taken in Opration Marita (1941 Balkans) or Operation Barbarossa(1941/42 Russia) - south sector.

The picture appears to be taken in the winter or close to it.  The trees are bare of leaves and don't look damaged.

This is a Witp forum. Understand your enthusiasm, but would you please move your panzers in Poland to a more appropriate place. Thanks.

This picture is on page 106 of: Kamph und Untergang der Deutschen Panzertruppe 1939-1945 by Horst Scheibert, Picture Caption notes it is course the 14th Panzer Div. Prety Shure this is Russia.

It is Either an E or a F, or posably a Panzerbefehlswagen, the Air vent on the top center (forward) part of the turet makes me think it is a "F".

The buildings appear to be central european, therefore I doubt this shot was taken in Russia.
I'd guess Czeckoslovakia in '38, although I'm not sure if PzIII was involved that early...

Edit: Thinking of it, I now believe it's somewhere in Austria or near the Austrian border during the 'Anschluss' (Annexion of Austria by Germany early in '38).
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?
