Any interest in an online league?
Any interest in a league? 8/11/12 man. Just checking to see if there is enough of a user base left to start a league.
RE: Any interest in an online 8-Man league?
Gary, if your going to stick with an Indoor style league, might I suggest using Ironman Rosters? I use the following Roster Slot configuration that works well with Iroman Football..
20 Player active Roster
3 QB
1 K
3 RB (They also play Lineback on Defense)
8 WR (They mostly play Defensive Back or Jacklinebacker on Defense)
5 OL (They play Defensive Line on Defense aswell)
I also designate 1 or 2 WR's (WR/DB's) as "Defensive Specialist" and sub in when a team changes possession, and a QB leaves the feild. So far, this works well with the Indoor game and the game subs the players much easier with this system.
I don't know if I can join your league (I can only run Max Football version 1.3149) but perhaps if you had the league allow for people to join that don't have the game, then I think I could. Maybe setup up predesigned Plays and Playbooks (League Stock Plays) and allow people to pick there own Playbooks each week. Just an idea.

RE: Any interest in an online league?
Well, based on posts so far, not much interest. But, I would imagine an 11 man league would be more of interest.
I guess what im eventually looking for is an idea of whether there are enough people interested in a league of any type.
I have more fun with the 8man game, but I would rather run a league that has lots of interest from the owners.

Stupid question from me, as i don´t have any experiences with that:
how does it work?

Team owners create their playbooks, set their depth charts and a commissioner runs the games in cpu vs cpu mode.

Sorry Gary. Due to my comp issues the NAIFU hasn't gotten off to a good start. I may start the season soon without all of the artwork for the teams just to get things going. But I am definetly intrested in being part a part of a strong owner league. I have been thinking that once the NAIFU starts of doing something small with 4 owners and either 11 or 12 players.

grandmarquis84, thats kinda what I was thinking. The perfect scenario would be a big league with a bunch of active owners, but I dont see the interest so far.
So, the best bet would be a league only as big as you have owners interested in playing.
Dont sweat the NAIFU. The owners are lurking, ready when the league is. Computer issues are something we all deal with. Have you gotten a response from all of them? My concern is that the Max community may be shrinking. There seems to be a bit less traffic here now. The same handful of people posting and replying.

there was always gonna be a big chunk of guys who left after the news
hopefully though, there is enough left to continue on with things
Mainly for all the little extra's
all we need are a few of the big guns, which we seem to have kept
which is what I expected to happen anyway, those of us that have stayed are the ones who did most of the posting in the past
and most of the extra's came from those of us left here aswell
so all we've lost are the folk who just complain (needlessly) and those who either cant or wont do anything for the community
so we aint lost nothing bro apart from numbers and names
We'll survive

I'm game, as long as you give me some time. Too much to do in real life the next couple weeks.
RE: Any interest in an online league?
If you don´t mind to teach me some lessons i will give it a try.
As i said earlier, i have no experiences but alot of (probably) stupid questions about how all this might work. [;)]
Would prefer 11 men league, but would also try a 8 men league. But pls no canadien rules, because i´m not familar with.

I'm working on adding 2 league to the MB family - one Arena and one Europa or something like that... I'm a glutton for punishment.
MBFL - MB Sports Net - Simulated NFL, AFL, CFL, NFL-E

Only football - I've run Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, NASCAR, F-1, Champ Car, Indycar, Touring Cars, DTM, Le Mans, Drag Racing, Rally Racing, GP2, and MotoGP sims in the past so that's where the MB Sports Net came from. At one point we had something like 15 racing leagues going on which I had a lot of fun with and did a lot of car painting with... I painted something like 450 sim cars a year.

Kewl
thats exactly how I got started with graphics many many years ago
painting cars and helmets for an old formula one game (its name escapes me - long time ago)
hold on, think they called it "Grand Prix" then I continued with it as it evolved to "Grand Prix 2",
all the way upto version 4 (which I believe I still have tucked away somewhere)
Loadsa fun and helped drive me (hahahaha) to where I am today with graphics

RE: Any interest in an online league?
I would be interested in joining a league, I've been doing Action PC and have done FPS, among others.
RE: Any interest in an online league?
Gary, as you know, I am cleaning up the default playbooks (the FnG has clean defenses now).
How large did you want this league to be, and will you want these updated playbooks for it?

RE: Any interest in an online league?
Right now I've been thinking about starting another league of some sort. Have owners submit their depth charts and playbooks. I would also create the videos of the simmed games so you could watch them if you want. Essentially I am looking to see if people would be more interested in American or Canadian rules.
RE: Any interest in an online league?
I know I haven't been around much, or at all lately, but I'm looking for an online league as a way of getting back into MF. Prefer 11 man, but the particulars don't matter. I'll try to check back, but if you have a league you are putting together could you shoot me an email at sttfrk-at-yahoo_com?
RE: Any interest in an online league?
I would be willing to give an online league a go again, I would prefer 11 man.
