Well, I suppose you can take the poster out of the Steakhouse, but not the Steakhouse out of the poster. Too bad, Mac; you ALMOST succeeded in convincing me that you could be a civilized human being.[8|]

I think that comment is uncalled for. What exactly was "uncivilized" about my post? Like 2ndACR I object to everyone in a forum that I belong to be labeled as "trolls" and "flame-starters". I see plenty of trolling and flame-wars in this forum, started by people who have nothing to do with the SH. Should everyone in the WITP forum be classified as a troll waiting to start trouble?

I think what people need to remember is that a lot of the SH posters are also Matrix posters. And some of them have been posting here for a very long time.

As to the intent of the poster who started this thread, well it seems to me someone was just trying to fan the flames a little bit more......

[8|]

So is that much different than others who started the flames in the first place?

As far as I could see, the matter here was closed when the thread was locked. Whats the motive in bringing it up again? Other than to start a round of SH bashing that is?

Mdiehl took his argument with Lanconic over to the SH after it was closed here, something that I thought Matrix had always encouraged. Seems to me that certain people would rather stay here and whine than step over there and have their say where there are no Mod's skirts or ignore buttons to hide behind.

is it not even the smallest possibility that it isnt a question of showing how manly you are to go to SH and carry on a 'discussion' but a fact that one just doesnt want to - cant be arsed - has already had their say and doesnt want to play with those who cant let it go??

ive nothing against the SH, why would i, but advertising it as you are it comes across as nothing more than a 'how big is my nob contest' because its where real men go to argue because over there you can say c*** and not get banned

Well......since half of us frequent both forums, it would be silly to lump all members of either forum as bad, as much as it would be wrong to say all Irish are lazy, or all Chinese are short.
The other forum even has a caveat.
True enough, some of the individuals on forums seem to have their own particular agendas, or personality "flaws", but it cannot be laid on an entire forum.

If that is the case why are people commenting in this thread then? Why was it started? Seems to me that people here are not willing to let it go [&:]

Well, there's a reason why they're over there, and we're over here.[8|]

i may be wrong, but was the thread not started because it appears that a member here went to SH with a blatant lie about another member here and it seemed worthy of discussion - if not i apologise

That would be great if the two parties stayed in their respective corners , but it doesn't seem to work out that way. It usually consists of someone being unsatified here, then going there to complain (or try and get reinforcements) and dragging back here.

There is always someone who's "meaningfull discussion" is a poorly disguised attempt to ruin the party by crapping in the punchbowl. I honestly expect that this thread will turn into another flame war . Then get locked. Only then will that someone be truly happy. [8|]
I can't see any other reason to start this thread here other than to start a flame war.

If you look at the thread started over there, the rational for starting the thread was that it was closed here... because of conduct. What is the problem with continuing it there?

I can't speak for the starter of this thread.....but i did find this interesting;
I'm shocked, shocked I say. Shocked and surprised to see Terminus and Nikademus trolling again. Well, OK, I'm not really. Actually I'm unsurprised. Doubtless if I was to suggest that Nickledimus is a lying sos, which is true, the thread would be locked,

Don't know what a "Lying sos" is but apparantly a few people missed this little tidbit from Joe on that same thread:
Interesting ... in this thread ... Mdiehl and I are on opposite sides of the debate ... And I'm not sure what these "words" mean either ...

Quote:
FYI, Wilkerson pm'd me a request that I identify you, since he figured I have an idea of your Steakhouse / former-Matrix ID. I politely declined to rat you out.

sounds like someone was fibbin to me. No, i take that back.....I know someone was fibbin, because I was the one who brought that little entry to his attention and he was well....."shocked....SHOCKED I say to learn what he'd allegedly conversed with Diehl about.

Seeing how the original poster just posted the link to the SH thread without comment, and has not shown his face in this thread since, I think it is kind of hard to discern what his intentions were in posting it. Seems rather suspect to me.

I stumbled across and thought it made an interesting justaposition with the thread on this forum. No intentions at all, just thought it was "interesting". [8D]
