Hi all, its been a long time since I have bought a PC game. Last one was BoA last summer. Hope you guys can help with these questions.

1. I read somewhere that the USA graphics used Spitfires and British tanks, is that true?

2. I have a really cool 1360 x 768 widescreen monitor. Does this game run in a "borderless" window?

3. If it runs in a borderless window, will it cover my XP2 bottom taskbar? I am hoping the game can "stay on top" and do this.

4. Is the AI decent?

Thanks in advance for any help and responses,

The Western Allies share aircraft & tanks graphics so at some tech levels it uses British, others US.

The game runs full screen without a border, though you can run in a window if you want.

You'll have to ask others for their opinion on the AI but with the handicap settings you can get a tough game no matter how good you are.

Thanks Iain,

I found the demo and downloaded it. First of all, congrats on a really beautiful game. The artwork and graphics are top notch.

The game play seems smooth enough;

But I am having problems with that window. The game will load and of course streches to fill my 1360 by 768 monitor. Even stretched it looks pretty good. But when I toggle the full screen switch from the options screen, the correct aspect ratio game is displayed, left justified, and fills the right hand portion of the screen with white.

Interesting, but in "full screen" mode, I can hit ctrl-alt-delete and get the task manager, but I cant seem to ever minimize the game. There does not appear to be a any buttons on the games top bar for closing the game or minimizing it, when not in "full screen". Also if the game is not full screen, and I initiate the task manager it corrupts the screen.

Also, the task manager does not show the game as an application, making me believe the demo really does not run in window mode. I need some details as to the actual window behavior for the production game.

Outside of the that, the game looks to be a real beauty.

Regards,

OK,

1. I figured out that you just cant toggle the full screen switch back and forth when playing a game, otherwise, when you try to launch another window or access the task manager, there will be some screen corruption on my rig at least.

2. The "window" the game runs in cannot be moved. But I was able to figure out how to minimize it and how to keep the task bar out of its way. You have to bear with me, the older I get the dumber I get.

3. The game window is always left justified on my screen. Not a big deal, really, just a note to self.

4. I like the look of the game a lot, but I may hold off on this one, while a check out a few other titles for widescreen support.

I just wanted to say to everyone, the Osprey graphics and the map textures really make this game look great. I counted about 895 individual graphic files just in the unit folder alone. The main maps, and all the supporting screens are well layed out, and create a great presentation.
