Can destroyers see subs before they attack?

Commander – Europe at War Gold is the first in a series of high level turn based strategy games. The first game spans WW2, allowing players to control the axis or allied forces through the entire war in the European Theatre.

Can destroyers see subs before they attack?

I had a convoy run into one of my subs. I had another unspotted sub next to it. On the computer turn a destroyer came and attacked my unspotted sub. How could it see it? Do destroyers have special sight abilities?

No, possibly a bug or possibly another unit moved in to it or you moved in to them discovering it?

If a player (human or AI) try to move across a hex that has a hidden unit, the hidden unit will be forced into battle.
