Cover

Post by Doug8256 »

Hey everyone. I'm a long time CC player since the initial release. Now have all versions. I am inquiring whether there was any modification to the "cover" portion of the game. I am enjoying this newest CC very much but my frustrations with cover have arrived. I am in the 2nd round of Day 1, and i sent a BAR team into a 2 story stone building in ambush mode. My squad was decimated by an MG squad from approx 100 meters firing distance. Unless my guys are standing at a window should they not be covered sufficiently in a stone building?

I agree 100%, hence my complaint about the extremely high kill rates from armor. The MGs on the tanks just wipe out squads with ease, even when said squads are in full cover. As I said in my post, it just feels very 'Hollywood' and not too terrible realistic.

Honestly direct fire simply did not account for THAT many casualties. Real troops could get out of line of sight/line of fire extremely quickly and often simply going to ground would be enough to prevent being hit. In the game, going to ground just means that you are stuck where you are until the MGs kill you.

It doesnt totally ruin the game IMO, but it could be a LOT better.
