Lost Passwords

Post by Barthheart »

Hi Vic,

The new option you added to replace people in multiplayer games by changing the emails is a good one.

But it does not seem to work for a 2 player game.

Anyway around this? Current multiplayer game of GPW but only using 2 sides and Russian side forgot their password![:-]

Please help.[&o]

No way around it, Barth. I didnt put it in, because you could use it to easily to cheat in a 2 player game.

sorry there.

regards,
Vic

Turns out it's not the password, possibly something my computer's doing.

Firefly suggested it was caused by the turn not being opened and closed on my computer- my forgetfulness, so the log didn't recognise the file when it came back after other side's turn. We tried a test- closing turn on my comp, Firefly opening game, finishing turn and sending back to me to open. Password opened the game fine, so we did the turn for real. The file comes back to me and again, I can't open it and neither can I open the test file anymore, the one which I could open previously.

Any idea?

No, we don't even have anti-cheat on. As several people are working on each side the file has to be opened on numerous PCs each player turn.

Then you must be mistaken. Cause there is only one way this can happen: you are actually entering the wrong password for the regime in question.

Maybe your confused about whose turn it is?
