Trying (unsuccessfully) to run COW scenario

Post by jascou »

Hi all, new to the forum.

Anyway, I've been trying to run a scenario I downloaded from the strategist, "Bloody Swamps": http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenar ... php?Id=519

However, I keep getting an error that the version of scenario won't work with TOAWIII. Not sure why, as I can run other COW scenarios fine. Even an attempt at opening in the editor fails.

Sure hope someone can help...I've been reading about the Iran-Iraq war and really want to try this scenario out![:(]

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry, but what is opart300?

the opart300 exe was designed to create and run large scenarios in earlier versions of TOAW... and it's those scenarios which can be converted to TOAWIII ...

Ahhh...so it appears I'm out of luck. Bummer. [:(]

Perhaps I should do my own scenario covering the Iran-Iraq war, seeing as how there are (surprisingly) slim pickings for this particular conflict.

Maybe you can try to contact this guy:

showprofile.asp?memid=8062#

He was doing a lot of conversions at one time, and seemed to be able to figure out some of the workarounds. I don't know if he is still around, though.

Cheers!

Jmass to the rescue![&o] Good job

This looks to be a solid scenario
It is PO enabled, with two objective tracks for both sides...

There is a Soviet Fighter-Bomber unit set to enter on turn 1 at location 999,999 which seems a minor glitch

Yeah, I agree...this is fantastic. And the scale is perfect for this particular conflict.

For anyone interested, here are some excellent links for background info regarding the war:

Thanks again for the help.
