Map questions

The city of Nurmeburg looks like this: Nuremburg (9): What does the (9) mean?

Why are ports on the seacoast not shown on the map?

The (9) is the value of Nurnberg for morale measuring purposes; capture or lose Nurnberg and your morale goes up or down by f(9).

What ports?
Ports such as Wilhelhaven and Scapa Flow, which look no different than other seacoast towns which may not be ports. Or are ALL seacoast towns ports?

Not all seacoast towns are ports.  Some non-seacoast towns are ports (Danzig, Rostov, e.g.).

So, I cannot look at the map, and see which are ports, and which are not. That's my point.

Noticed that too - found myself protecting ports that had no docks [:D]. A little anchor icon works well.

If you can rebase a ship there -- it's a port.

Yes, I wish there were anchor symbols, but unfortunately I don't think I mentioned them to the artist, sorry about that.

Ah, those artists are temperamental anyway - probably would've drawn one with a mine attached.

Really, I think it only matters for the first very few plays - with so few coastal cities, one learns the real ports quickly.
