New Scenarios

Post by JWE »

Ok, so everybody knows the AI ain’t I, and we all know that as time goes on, it gets less and less I. But for well developed smaller scenarios, the AI ain’t ‘too’ bad.

I’m looking to put together a ‘stable’ of smaller, fun, informative, scenarios, so Newbies got something to play with, and grogs can do a PBEM without investing years.

I’m looking for “operational” or “sub theater” suggestions; no more than 1 year long, with suggestions as to ‘victory conditions’. No “what if” crap, please.

I know this thread is likely to get bogged and boogered, so pm works, as does email.

Ciao. John

How about one that covers the Gilberts to the Marshalls? Call it Nimitz Strikes?

I have found that the AI is much better if it is on the offensive as this is easier to script I suppose. Makes it more challenging for the human player to be on the defensive during these scenarios. So, the opening phase of the war when Japan is strictly on the offensive (Dec 41 through say July 42) and with Allies strictly on the offensive (say Feb 43 through Aug 45) might be ideal.

yeah, interesting Bob, but not much traction beyond letting the KB into the IO to blow up whatever Brit ships they find. Looking for something scenario-ish, like Termie's Phillipine thingie. Something fully operational; ships, units, supply, the whole magilla.

I think Termies Phillipine thingie is awesome! Something like that, early war, late war, a campaign, if ya know what I mean.

Then it could also include the fast carrier raid on Formosa to kill the airfields.

What about operation downfall? Starting halfway 1945 and including the troops from Europe coming over. Would be cool.

By 1945, it really won't matter. The Allies will have standing room only with troops and ships trying to get enough room to get to Japan ...... This isn't an issue of Japanese victory, but rather one of survival ......

How about the DEI campaign?

And maybe it comes under the "what if" label, Operation Zipper.

What about Olympic and the prep for it?

How about Cartwheel? AUgust 142 to December 1943. The isolation of Rabaul including the GC Campaign. Or just February 1943 to Decmber 1943 after the GC campaign concluded.

A shorter "campaign game" would be nice. Dec 7 41 to Dec 31 42 for example.

Or sinking, depending on your point of view[:)]
