Russian names...

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Russian names...

Post by ENO »

I was keeping silence since SP1: I live in Russia and the commanders names, which are in SPWAW, sounds disgusting to me and to many other SP fans in my country. The names like Konen, Frystak and Aleynikovanya etc. do not exist (either not possible). I wish they will changed for more realistic in 4.1 or in nearest future. If you wish I can either create a list of REAL russian names...

What do You think?

-Best regards-

True. Somebody who lives in that specific country should gather all these leader names....

One idea from me - Mph/Kmh-switch.
Who use miles in mainland Europe anyway?
Small gripe though...Not maybe so important Image

I found that the NHL is a great source for Russian names(National Hockey League). Jagr, etc.

It would be a GREAT help is a Russian member would put together a list of names that could be used to replace the existing name base

Or all we will have is Zhukov, Konev, Kurochkin, Shotopkin, Karasov, Borodin, Gagarin, Shtemko, Zmiyev, Zahkarov, Voronov, Sokolov, etc

Some Belarussian , Ukranian and Uzbek names would be nice as well

no offense warhead but Jagr is from the Czech Republic

Maybe Federov, Bure or Mogilny would do.

A good place to get names from any country is a phone directory from that country. Going through SP2 I notice Dutch names that aren't Dutch or even names. The Filipino names in SPWAW aren't Filipino. This is probably true for other countries as well Why not farm this out to various people from various countries to get it done right?
