AE AI

Post by Rossj »

I did a search on AE AI and did not get much
I do recall seeing a few discussions on the topic
Most notably a discussion on the problems with task groups and convoys taking absurds tracks from the U.S. to Australia that take them proximate to enemy bases
I have seen this as well
This combined with the helter skelter way in which bases are resupplied necessitates a lot of micro management

I would like to get some feedback from the developers on what their goals were for the AI and how successful or not the efforts have been

And last but not least - the "hold up" (for those that have been reading) has been that in June, we decided we had to re-write the AI processor, that has cost us several months - but we think it will be worth it. Here is the most detailed discussion of same:

I am surprised someone hasn't posted something to the effect of "playing against the ai is like beating up your little brother, PBEM is where it's all at"
That being said....
5 gold rings... 4 calling birds...3 french hens, 2 turtle doves and a copy of AE under my christmas tree.[;)]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Now that I'm approaching sixty, my 50 year-old kid brother says its time for some pay back.

Perhaps as senility sets in the AI will do that to me as well.
