Version number

Post by sol_invictus »

Just got the game and it is really bringing back some good memories. I updated it and all seemed to go well, but when I start the game it still lists the version number as 4.50. Is this normal? Should it not read 4.50.2? Looking forward to diving in this weekend.

I tried to update with the auto update and it says I am using the most current verion but it still lists my version as 4.50.

Unfortunately that patch did not change the version. There is a new beta patch available that fixes a few more things and it does change the number....

Thanks, no problem. I just wasn't sure if the game actually updated. Game looks and runs great so far. I am very glad you guys updated these gems. I am heavily leaning toward getting COI as well now. I hope A Bridge Too Far gets the same treatment.

As a way of explanation

The 02 patch was very last minute as it was discovered that the Installer did not create a couple of folders that were desirable to play the game.

We quickly threw in a couple of other tweaks we were working on to make an "At Release" patch.. mainly just to get those folders created.

The game would have played fine without them but users could have become confused with save games a little further down the track.... and maybe tried to open "Classic" saved games with the new WaR and ended up with corrupt campaigns etc.

The next patch we are working on will be much larger, data/graphics/exe and should address any issues we have found.

Sounds great! Looking forward to it. I'm just getting through Boot Camp at the moment and getting cozy with the interface after all these years. It must have been the late 90's when I last played a CC game. I think it was D-Day.
