Unit background color

Post by sol_invictus »

In the Soldier Tab each unit has a background color behind the name of its type. Most have a Yellow or Orange background before the battle begins. What does this color signify? After the battle begins, all teams seem to be set with a Green background.

Also, in the Manual it states that we may disable the Force Morale end-of-battle option by checking the box on the Command Screen. Is this correct? It seems that checking the box would enable this option, like the other options. Essentially, I want all of the end-of battle Options to be enabled in my Campaign. Should I have all boxes checked?

Having a tick in the box makes force morale active.

8.3.2 Battle Ends conditions
Below the Realism Rating settings are the Battle Ends conditions.
The player can change these conditions by clicking in the adjacent check box
Those conditions are:
• When Force Morale Gets Too Low
The default settings are Force Morale enabled for Operations and Campaigns, and disabled for individual Battles.

Note: Be advised that disabling the Force Morale option will severely alter play balance when playing Operations and Campaigns.

Thanks for clearing that up. That is what I suspected.

What about the background color? I can't find any explanation in the manual, though I am sure it is in there somewhere. I see what the colors for individuals means, but not for the entire unit.[&:]

In the force selection screen the bar color is the relative experience of the unit as a whole.
Green = Experienced
Olive = seen battle
Dark Orange = Combat Training

Once the battle begins and the unit bars turn green to signify overall morale condition of the unit. This changes for each unit during the game.
