stuck in the cavern (red OBJ's)

I'm hoping someone is out there that can help me. I am trying to play through the "tutorial" campaign to learn how this game works, but I am in the cavern and it tells me to recover OBJ's and move them to the "A" boxes. The game will not let any of my guys pick them up and in the manual it says red ones can only be picked up by one side. When I use "stats" on the terrain, it says enemy recoverable objective. If only my enemy can recover them, how can I complete this mission?
