Next patch?

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

AFAIK the patch is already done by Matrix.
Due the time difference between Poland and USA I didn't have time to check is the release version ok.
Currently I'm off from my PC and will return there in couple of hours. Hopefuly everything is fine and we will release it to you.

If nothing comes out we are going to continue working over AI and mulberrys and some other stuff for the next patch.

Awesome response, doomtrader.

That bit about the mulberries is certainly intriguing.  First we heard that you were adding that, I believe.

I hope you realize that if you can devise an AI that actually properly uses the mulberries, now that would be remarkable.  As far as I know, none of the games out there right now, like HOI2, have ever had decent amphibious assault AI - DDAY style.

As long as there's time to give it a final check today, I expect we would post it as a public beta later today and make it official next week.

Good morning Eric,

If you are visiting this site early Saturday morning I would love to see a public beta released for some weekend gaming.  If you can't get it out I will certainly understand, but if you can I will try it out.  If you need a private beta tester I volunteer.

Must be a snag with the patch?

I, for one, think there is much to be gained from a public beta, even if there is a snag in the new version. By making it clear that it is, indeed, a beta, and that user evalustion is being sought, you can deliver a better package. The critical thing in these situations is that all understand that it is a testing situation, and that things may not work.

The current version is the game "in being", the beta just that, a test. I would love to see the public beta under these conditions.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to the wonders of the internet, we had a communications breakdown that delayed the release of the public beta. The static has abated and we're now in communication again. The public beta will be posted later today, our apologies for the delay.

Regards,

- Erik

Has anyone talked about a tool tips with a mouse rollover? Something like SSG has on their games!! If that makes sense...

I guess with SSG, you right click on an icon and a pop-up window tells you what it's for. I would settle for a quick reference card with the action button icons and a description of what they are. I would then print it off for easy reference in using the Unit Action Buttons!!
I tried printing the one from the rule book and handwriting descriptions with arrows, but it's definately "Micky Mouse" [:(]
