Unplanned bomber sorties

Post by Preuss »

I know fighter CAP is supposed to be 7 hexes. How does that go for the bombers. On either side of the war I've noticed bombers without escort (presuming my opponent hasn't chosen the 'train' option) going up against fighters. So....how far from the front can bombers be so as not to engage in this high-risk training?
Jesus ...., with all respect. This closet germanism is allways killing me.

If a bomber is on any mission except training it will engage as support to an land attack or defense of any hex commanded by the HQ that it is in as long as the hex is in range. It will do so even without fighjter support.

Sometimes the fighter support is non-existent or has been used up for that turn by other actions
