I like to buy WITP. War in the Pacific. It is with the discount a price I can afford, But I want to know if with the new expansion;there'll be a  bundle. You know the game + the expansion. I would wait for the bundle and use the money to buy to of your games now if that is the case. Can you guys point me in the right direction before the 7th date line
tnx.

From a sales and marketing standpoint, that might be something they would do. However, as a gamer, since it will be based on the WitP engine Mark 1 Mod 0, upgraded to Mark 1.8.0.6, and the new upgrade will be more like the Mark 2 of the same engine, I would suggest you buy the game at the discounted price, get it installed and updated, and start playing. As one wag on this board noted several years ago, there is no learning curve in this game. It is a learning cliff. The sooner you get started, the better.

Erm, you guys have seen Erik's post, right? The one confirming that it'll be a Q1 09 release?

Is this what you are refering too?

Post In General Forum

The upcoming War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition. That will require WITP to play however, so I'd say WITP now in preparation for that release, which won't be too much longer.

Becuase he says nothing about Q1. Only that it wont be much longer. Hard to quantify what that really means.

Chad

That's not the post. I saw it as well. Lemme see if I can find it.

its here, now quit your moaning and say sorry to terminus:-

Since my original post, you've seen the release of Commander: Napoleon at War, Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein and World War One: La Grande Guerre.

We were hoping War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition and Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition would also make it in time for Christmas to put a big finish on the year, but they're still in final testing and polishing, so I'm afraid those will be 1Q 2009 releases at this point.
Our next pre-Christmas release is Hired Guns, which is a great turn-based tactical combat game in the spirit of Jagged Alliance.

We're also finalizing our big Christmas sale plans, so check back before Thanksgiving for news on that.

Regards,

- Erik

If I understand well AE is finished and a patch for WITP is in preparation to make both games compatible.
The question is when ?

Why can't we just BBQ Terminus and by the time we are done WITP-AE will be released?

This sounds like a solid plan.

1.807 has been in existance for over a year. My version has a date of 6/30/07. It was planned to release around labor day last year, but Joes real life and this "minor distraction" of AE has stopped work on it. It is planned to resume work on it if/when AE is released. One thing it corrects is kamikazies crashing into bases. I wouldnt be surprised if 1.807 was released around the time AE is because of the time required from the time AE goes "gold" until the actual release. And absolutely no way will WitP and AE ever be compatible.

Only real question is if Joe is going to work on that or on patch 1 of AE (we have a fair number of things scheduled for that as well). Or possibly go screaming into the night and do neither [:D]

What Yamato Hugger said: there is no question of WitP and AE being compatible. We're finishing the product and not working on patches.

Information or misinformation about a Q1 or later release? Hmmm?

Remember that December 7th was a surprise attack.

A kind of compatibility is probably needed if WITP is requested to play AE ?

"Compatibility" means some sort of way you can use one to play the other. This is not the case.

AE checks for the presence of a WitP install on the computer. That's it.
